Background
Mike Clayton is an Integrative Counsellor which means he uses different methods according to your needs. These can be Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) or Gerard Egan’s The Skilled Helper.
He has been counselling in private practice and in Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP’s) since 1993 working throughout the UK and in Canada, Brunei, Germany, Macedonia, Kosovo, Cyprus, Serbia and Montenegro. A highly experienced life coach, career and personal development counsellor with over 30 years of industrial and business management expertise.
His local therapy practice and office is at the Fountain For Health, Teignmouth, South Devon, where you will also find other therapists who undertake chiropody, acupuncture, aromatherapy, chiropractic and homeopathy. Their expertise will allow you to maintain and improve your health and well being, manage stress and aid your recovery from illness and injury.
Mike is a registered counsellor with Survivors UK dealing with male rape and sexual abuse issues, with extensive experience in working in both Dartmoor and Channingswood Prisons.
He has worked for over 15 years with the Ministry of Defence with Service Leavers leaving the Army, Navy and Air Force in Transition Training and Career Counselling, He was specifically selected in 1999 to be the Transition Consultant for UK Special Forces 22 SAS at Hereford and SBS at Poole and continues his specialist work with them.
Also during this period Mike has worked as a volunteer counsellor and supervisor with Cruse Bereavement Care South Devon where he has specialised in sudden death situations and clients with both drug and alcohol problems.
